Bust Fantasy Players: NFL

1. Aaron Brooks, QB, Oakland Raiders
On paper Brooks defines what every team covets, an athletic quarterback with a good arm. However, even though Brooks has the physical tools, he has trouble putting them to good use. This makes him a fantasy football bust, but, more importantly, it makes him a quarterback with his job at risk. Do not be shocked if second-year quarterback Andrew Walter gets some action behind center this season.

2. Corey Dillon, RB, New England Patriots
The Patriots have had so much success in the past because they do not rely on any one particular superstar. When Dillon came on board, he was the premier back and got almost all of the carries. In an effort to ease the load, they drafted Laurence Maroney in the first round. It is not that Dillon is bad; he is just not as valuable in fantasy football anymore. He will be a fantasy football bust this season only because he is bound to get less carries.

3. Drew Bledsoe, QB, Dallas Cowboys
How is Bledsoe a bust even though he got Terrell Owens? Well, who knows if Owens will even stick around? Bledsoe is a classy, team-first quarterback who will do what it takes to win. With the inevitable Owens explosions, however, Bledsoe likely will become frustrated (see Jeff Garcia and Donovan McNabb) and the team may suffer. Bledsoe is a fantastic signal caller, but Owens is the biggest cancer football has ever seen, which could turn Bledsoe's quarterback into a fantasy football bust.

4. Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Motorcycle accident aside, Roethlisberger is going to be a fantasy football bust this season. Why? Because the Steelers let Antwaan Randle El go and Jerome Bettis has retired. Randle El will be sorely missed because of his knack for turning nothing into something, and Bettis was a chain-mover on short yardage third-down situations. The Steelers offense will still be solid with Willie Parker and Duce Staley as well as superstar Hines Ward and Heath Miller, but Big Ben's numbers will not be too great in fantasy football.

5. Troy Williamson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Losing Daunte Culpepper will prove more costly than the Vikings will ever want to know. The Vikings will now turn to the run more often with a fantastic offensive line and sleeper Chester Taylor in the backfield. Williamson is a burner with great hands and can stretch the field but this is useless when Brad Johnson often will not throw the ball to him. Williamson is a great talent, but will be a fantasy football bust this season. Nevertheless, he still has strong potential for future greatness.

6. Curtis Martin, RB, New York Jets
The clock is about to strike midnight for the ever-consistent Martin. The Jets have a new regime, they are rebuilding and Martin is entering his 13th season. Although he will still get the bulk of carries, his numbers will not be intimidating. The future hall of fame inductee will be a fantasy football bust this season, but the young Jets players will learn from this classy veteran as he helps make the team better.
