Fantasy sports competitions are fun ways to play fantasy sports during the baseball, football, and basketball playoffs and it is also fun to make picks on who will win in college football and college basketball tournaments and even the World Cup. Fantasy sports competitions usually have an entry fee wiht the winner of the competition receiving an extravagant gift.

The people who are the most accurate and win the fantasy sports competition can win so much as a new car or maybe just a commemorative t-shirt. Either way, winning is winning and who wouldn't take pride in winning fantasy sports competitions?

Fantasy sports competitions are pretty new on the scene. After fantasy sports took off and reached new heights in the last 10 years or so, fantasy sports competitions have become more and more popular. Fantasy sports competitions fill the void of having no fantasy sports for college sports or in professional sports postseasons. There are fantasy sports competitions in just about every major sport but the following games are the most popular of them all.

NCAA Basketball

Every March, 65 Division-I basketball teams earn the right to play in a single elimination tournament to crown the champions. Every year, there are teams that win that shouldn't win, and teams that lose that shouldn't lose. In 2006, George Mason University was an 11 seed but that didnt stop them from taking down traditional powers and much higher seeded Michigan St., defending champ North Carolina, Wichita St., and the shocker of them all, Connecticut before falling to Florida in the semi-finals. Teams like George Mason are the reason millions of people around the country fill out their own brackets before the tournament starts and see how many games they can guess correctly. This is why everyone calls the NCAA tournament, March Madness.

NCAA Football

At the end of every college football regular season, 54 teams are selected to participate in 27 bowl games. The bowl games differ greatly. From the pinnacle of the BCS National Championship game to the relatively unknown Fort Worth Bowl, every bowl game is a big deal when you are picking winners. Much like the NCAA basketball tournament where people try to guess who will win each game, the same is done for bowl games. Often times you have to guess the correct winner AND guess if the game's total points will be over or under the given spread.

World Cup

Every year, international soccer takes over the world's attention for a month for the World Cup. Not only is this a competition of world-class soccer players playing for the home country, but it is also a fantasy sports competition for anyone around the world to participate in. From picking the winners and losers to picking the scores all the way to picking who will score the most goals in the tournament, the World Cup is one of the biggest fantasy sports competitions across the globe.

Super Bowl

Over the years The Super Bowl has turned into holiday. It is celebrated by Americans everywhere. Even non-football fans tune in to watch the NFL championship game. Many tune in to just watch the game, but every year, more and more fans are tuning in to see if they will win the biggest fantasy sports competition in the world. Everything that occurs during the Super Bowl has some sort of value in this fantasy sports competition. There are bets in every facet of the game. Of course the scoring is the biggest bet but there are many other bets that are just mind-boggling. Bets are made on how many yards will be gained or lost on every single play as well as how many commercials Pepsi will air in one half. There are bets on anything and everything during the Super Bowl and that gives it the honor of the most popular of all the fantasy sports competitions.

Fantasy sports competitions are becoming a hotter trend every year and they make viewing sports a lot more exciting. These fantasy sports competitions give non-fans a reason to sit down and watch the games and care about the outcomes.
